Indoor Flying at the Madejski Dome Reading 2009

Following the success of the November ’08 fly-in a series of dates have been booked for the New Year.

Responding to feedback from you all last time we are able to announce a great 3 for 2 offer! For 2009 we are able to announce that the sessions will be three hours long, the most preferred option, better still the price will be maintained at £6.00 for the session due to being able to negotiate a better price for a block of four sessions January to April!

The dates for your diary are:

January 10 2pm till 5pm.

February 14 3pm till 6pm. Please note that this later time is to allow spectators to a London Irish game to arrive and depart without us becoming embroiled in the traffic.

March 7 2pm till 5pm.

April 25 2pm till 5pm.

Please note Proof of Insurance will be required for all at the first meeting, subsequent meetings only new attendees will need to produce Proof of insurance.

The flight line and the pits will be repositioned for the next event to hopefully improve the use of the space. We will arrange some simple ‘slot’ system in order to control the number of aircraft airborne at any one time. Also as a response to feedback it has been decided to limit maximum power to 150watts. More than enough for Park and Shockies.

There will be no charge for spectators, but we have a very enthusiastic and persistent fund raiser for Thames Valley and Chilterns Air Ambulance (our club charity) who will be rattling a collecting tin for this worthy cause.

35Mhz will operate a ‘peg off’ system. All control systems will be subject to the ‘slot’ rules.

The Dome is situated behind the Madejski Stadium close to J11 M4 off the A33 going north into Reading.
