Reading & District Model Aircraft Club is based in Reading, Berks. in the UK We are affiliated to the BMFA (British Model Flying Association).

Like many clubs these days the majority of members are active in R/C modelling, mainly I/C Powered but with more and more members flying electric's. We also have a number of dedicated helicopter pilots and there are even a select few who fly free-flight or control-line.

The club has use of a flying field by the Thames with a grass strip. Flying hours are as follows :

Day Powered flight Silent Flight
Monday No Flying No Flying
Tuesday 12:00 noon to 8:00pm 10:00am on
Wednesday 12:00 noon to 8:00pm 10:00am on
Thursday 12:00 noon to 8:00pm 10:00am on
Friday No Flying No Flying
Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm 10:00am on
Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm 10:00am on
Bank Holidays are counted as Sundays

Powered flight means any model powered by an Internal Combustion engine including airboats and power assisted gliders.

Reminder: please note that the extended hours at Dreadnought are for 'silent flight' - with the advances in motor power and battery technology, some electric models, generically considered to fall in this category, are far from silent. Please help us keep our flying field and fly responsibly.

Silent flight means any non-I/C powered models (including electric, rubber, CO2 power) or gliders.
